A graduate of the Toho Gakuen Conservatory, pianist Hideko Nara studied with Kazuko Yasukawa and Yuko Yamaoka, and also studied in Paris with Vlado Perlemuter and Marcelle Heuclin. Her awards include the Senigallia International Piano Competition (Italy, 1981) third prize, Maria Canals International Piano Competition (Spain, 1982) special medal, and Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competion (Italy, 1982) special medal. She has given solo recitals every year since 1984, and in 1997 and 1998, she had recital tours of Japan with soprano Charlotte de Rothschild. Hideko Nara currently teaches at Showa University of Music.

Depuis 1984, elle donne des récitals solo ?chaque année. En 1997 et 1998, elle a effectu?une tournée japonaise avec la soprano Charlotte de Rothshilds. Hideko Nara enseigne présentement ?l¹universit?de musique de Showa.
